.It is a recent course, opened just three years ago. Contrary to other courses in La Cala, it has wide fairways and larger greens. It is perfect for an average player, who will be challenged by all its bunkers, along this 6,014-meter par 71 course.
Cabell Robinson, charged with the design of the three courses, stressed the differences among them, particularly in the case of the Europa Course, since this one has the incentive the Ojén River brings, whilst the other two extend through hills. For him, the main difference lies on the different character of each course, and while none of them is excessively long, their differences represent a great range of three rounds of 18 holes to choose from.
That differentiating feature that is the river appears along eight holes, and crosses three fairways. It has, in turn, multiple bridges to cross it, five in total, with a 45-meter main one.
Maximum respect toward the proliferation of indigenous plants has been the policy during the design phase of this course. Some autochthonous species were added, such as the rockrose, lavender, rosemary and palmetto, as well as some trees such as cork oaks, eucalyptuses, almond trees, carob trees and olive trees. The final balance results in the planting of 300 trees and 1,500 bushes, but there is also a very positive note: no tree was removed and only one was transplanted.
The design of the course is also conceived for the comfort of the golfers, and for that reason they have four tunnels and 20,000 m2 of paved paths to be able to drive with golf carts.
To conclude, two distinguishing features of the course worth mentioning: hole number eleven is the longest of the round thanks to its 524 meters distributed in a par 5, and hole number 14 is 233 meters high, the maximum altitude allowed for a par 3.
